Brendan J. Dugan
Chairman & CEO, Sovereign Bank, Metro NY/NJ Division
Brendan J Dugan is Chairman and CEO of Sovereign Bank's
Metro NY/NJ Division, as a result of its recent acquisition of
Independence Community Bank. Prior to joining Independence in 2003,
He served as Chief Operating Officer of Citibank Commercial Markets and
President of European American Bank. Mr. Dugan has deep roots in
Brooklyn and serves as Board Chairman of St. Francis College; as a Board
member of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Regional Plan Association,
and Partnership for New York City; and on the Finance Council of
Brooklyn's Roman Catholic Diocese.

Paul J. Curran
Special Counsel, Kaye Scholer LLP
Paul J. Curran is Special Counsel for Litigation at Kaye Scholer
LLP, with a lifelong commitment to public service. He served three terms
in the New York State Assembly, was Special Counsel to the U.S. Justice
Department, Chair of the New York State Commission on Investigations,
U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and is currently Chair
of the Appellate Division's First Department Disciplinary Committee. As
longtime Chair of Prisoners' Legal Services of New York, Mr. Curran works
to ensure that low-income inmates in the state's correctional facilities
have access to civil legal services.

Maria Contreras-Collier
Director, Cypress Hills Child Care Corporation
Maria Contreras-Collieris Director of the Cypress Hills
Child Care Corporation, where she has dramatically improved the quality
children's services offered by its parent organization, the Cypress Hills
Local Development Corporation. She has built and nurtured the corpora-
tion's Family Day Care Network, Head Start Program, and Child Care
Center, while creating a community nutrition and exercise program and an
annual Christmas Toy Drive. In the 1990s, Ms. Contreras-Collier partnered
with Brooklyn A in a successful fight for city funding for daycare, and has
supervised the corporation's housing, community organizing, and
economic development departments.
