Pro Bono Work
Brooklyn A welcomes the opportunity to work with members of the legal community who want to contribute their skills to benefit low-income Brooklyn families and neighborhoods. We partner with pro bono coordinators at major law firms and invite retirees, solo practitioners, and attorneys working part-time to join us in our unique, community-based public interest law practice. Our resources are limited and pro bono counsel can make a huge difference in our ability to provide comprehensive services to our clients and/or undertake major litigation. Brooklyn A is also limited by federal restrictions on the types of cases we can address, a constraint that does not affect pro bono counsel. Many of our pro bono attorneys say that their Brooklyn A cases, with their close community partnerships, constitute the most meaningful work of their careers. For information or to volunteer your services, please contact Brooklyn A's Pro Bono Coordinator Batya Miller at bmiller@bka.org or 718-487-2341.
